OIL SKETCHES

These are all quick sketches, painted in oil and all of them painted on location on paper or card, or often on the back of cereal packets. These came about after a mental health issue I had two years ago and were a way of taking me out of the studio and out of a headspace where I was struggling to get to grips with what my work was about. These paintings are simply about engaging with the landscape around me and enjoying the infinite possibilities of paint.
