I was born in 1977 near Wigan and brought up in Hampton, south- west London. My ambition has always been to be an artist but after school I made a decision not to go to art school but instead I studied medieval history at Manchester University from 1996-1999. Whilst I was there I continued to paint in my own time, and was a member of the Whitworth Art Society. After leaving Manchester I spent some time working for Grand Union Design as a mural painter and decorative artist and then for Richmond Adult Community College as a fine art technician. I did an MA in painting from 2003-2005 and have worked as a full time painter since January 2008.

As well as painting I have also been trained as a lighting designer, lighting a number theatre productions at R.A.C.C, including A Christmas Carol, Oedipus Rex and Travels with my Aunt, as well as most recently the Flying Fish production of Good Morning Mr. Rabbit: link.

In summer 2007 I helped start up a creative holiday company called Point 101 Holidays. With this I help organize and run art and photography trips to Italy and Morocco. Point 101 holidays has now expanded, increasing its destinations, which now include Turkey and Croatia and running courses here in the U.K. It has also changed its name to Frui.

I am also a practising Christian and an active member St. Mary’s the Virgin, Bourne Street.
